The Health Secretary, Jeane Freeman, gave a statement at the Scottish Government briefing today (October 12th) regarding a further relaxation of the rules regarding the visiting of residents in Scotland's care homes.
In particular, the new guidance allows for an increase in the length of both indoor and outdoor visits - and an increase in the number of people permitted at outdoor visits - as well as reintroducing touch/physical contact between family members and their loved ones.
Given the complexities around this matter, and the need to ensure Inspire's procedures closely align with Scottish Government guidance, we will digest the updated document over the coming days and feedback to all parties further on this in due course. At this time, therefore, Inspire's existing guidelines in relation to visiting remain in place and will continue to be adhered to at all times.
