September was another busy month for the people we support at Inspire with lots of different activities taking place!
We started off the month with a beautiful sunny day for our walking group. We met at Seaton Park and had a lovely walk taking in all the beautiful flowers and enjoying a peaceful stroll through the pretty walled garden.
The people we support at St James's Court in Inverurie had a day trip to the Art Gallery in Aberdeen, and had great fun trying out all the exhibits while they were there. Lynsay painted a horse for Marie for her birthday, and Scott surprised his Mum for her birthday by painting her a picture as a gift. He chose all the colours himself and his Mum was absolutely over the moon with his work. Scott was also ice skating at the Lynx Ice arena in Aberdeen. You can see from the massive smile on his face how much fun he had.
Harry from Peterhead has been busy putting twining onto a seat, which is looking pretty impressive. Ivor and Clunas enjoyed attending the fish festival in the town, and the people we support at one of our services in Peterhead held a special tea on the day of the Queen's funeral while watching the service.
Our monthly supper club in Aberdeen was very well attended by people we support from many of our services, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their macaroni cheese and sticky toffee pudding - yum!
Our weekly activities drop in centre has been getting busier, and those attending have been enjoying walks to the local parks in the sunshine, film sessions, baking, arts and crafts and lots more.
Adrian from Slains Crescent in Ellon used to be an avid shot put player when he was younger, and he won lots of medals and trophies at lots of local and national sporting events. He has recently been missing playing Shot Put, and has been reminiscing with the staff a lot about how much he enjoyed it and looking through all of his prizes and awards. His staff got in touch with the activities team to see if we could help! Adrian has now started to play Shot Put at Aberdeen Sports Village on Monday afternoons.
Thanks to support from local company Proactis, lots of people we support, enjoyed a Sports Day at
Aberdeen Sports Village at the end of September where they had a go at Football, boccia and badminton. Not only did everyone have fun trying out the sports, as you can see from the photos, but they got to meet and get photographs and autographs with AFC players who were in training before us.
