Activities Blog - July Review

July has been an action-packed month at Inspire with lots of fun activities taking place!

Colin from Inverurie had a grand day out going into Aberdeen to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at His Majesty’s Theatre. He was singing and dancing in his seat throughout the show. His favourite song was "Go Go Go Joseph" and he said it was incredible. He already has a list of shows he wants to see next and has decided he wants a Technicolor Dreamcoat for his birthday.

The people we support in Peterhead have had a very busy July! They enjoyed a range of activities including a BBQ, gardening, watching lots of the events during Peterhead Scottish Week (with the Red Arrow Display being a massive highlight), painting garden furniture and attending the New Deer Show. And as if the month wasn’t already busy enough, people attended the Peterhead Coffee Meet, something that used to happen prior to the pandemic, that started back up in July. It's been great for everyone to finally catch up for a weekly news over a cuppa and fancy piece.

Supper Clubs have been enjoyed in Aberdeen, Elgin and Inverurie during July. In Aberdeen some of the people who came along to supper club even got to enjoy their meal outside as it was a really warm and sunny day.

Getting creative is something that the people we support love doing, and everyone certainly got a chance to do that at our recent Cupcake Decorating session with Oyin from O'Caykx in Aberdeen. Oyin, talked everyone through how to use the piping bag, which is actually trickier than it looks, but everyone was awesome at piping. Then came the fun part of picking from all the different colours of icing and deciding whether to have flowers, letters, hearts or leaves on top of their cupcake creations!

Bob’s Buddies are always a favourite when they visit Inspire, and the people we support at the new Inspire...By shop in Inverurie loved getting to hold the owls and listen to William tell them lots of amazing facts about owls.

July also saw the start of a new weekly drop in for the people we support through our CLP service in Aberdeen. Those who have been attending have been getting involved with crafts, puzzles, showing off their 10 pin skills, exercise sessions, and getting the chance to have a good blether.
