Activities Blog - December Review

Santa Pic

Despite the heavy snow, freezing temperatures and slippy conditions for almost two weeks,

the people we support across the North East, have still had an action packed December.

Jill from St James’s Court in Inverurie enjoyed some baking, and Gavin was busy making

soup and cakes. Maureen enjoyed going out for fish and chips one night.

Some of our guys at St James’s Court had a festive craft session and made some tree

decorations. I love the little Brussel Sprout decoration. It’s so cute.

Those we support in Inverurie have also enjoyed a trip to BA stores to see all the festive

decorations, had a Christmas Jumper disco, a hot chocolate cinema night, enjoyed a trip to

the pantomime, and also watched the tractor run.

Marie was crowned the winner of the St James’s Court Christmas Cupcake Competition for

her snowmen cupcakes, with Grant coming 2nd and Joyce in 3rd. Everyone had a great time

making the cakes and I’m sure the judges enjoyed picking the winners.

Now it can’t be Christmas without a visit from a special man in a red suit, and despite his

hectic schedule, Santa squeezed in a special trip to St James’s Court to have a chat with

everyone we support, and to see who was on the naughty or nice list.

Scott enjoyed some relaxing time in the awesome sensory room, and everyone we support

was treated to a lovely concert too.

The people we support in Elgin and Archiestown enjoyed their Christmas Supper Club at the

Granary in Elgin.

In Peterhead the guys enjoyed their first ever supper club, which everyone enjoyed and they

are hoping this will become a regular event, as they all enjoyed seeing everyone and having

a good blether while enjoying some nice food at Harbour Springs in the town.

Our December and very festive Supper Club in Aberdeen was another huge success at The

Pier, where more than 60 people enjoyed turkey and all the trimmings, followed by Sticky

Toffee pudding. Santa and one of his little helpers even made an appearance and everyone

went away with a nice little gift.

Our weekly Chin WAGS group in Aberdeen have enjoyed playing lots of games, dressing

each other up as Christmas trees, showing off their singing skills at karaoke and, enjoying

their Christmas Party, which was supported thanks to funding from Aberdeen City Council’s

Festive Fund and Neighbourly M&S and held at Inspire. Massive thanks to our friends at

Cafe Ahoy for the delicious food.

After a super busy month it’s time for a little festive break, so we are all refreshed and ready

for the next year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.
