Activities Blog - June Review

The lovely sunny weather during June has certainly allowed the people we support to get out and about more and enjoy lots more fun activities in their communities, as well as further afield too.

Some of the people we support at St James’s Court in Inverurie have recently enjoyed flying kites in the wind, playing hook a duck and having lots of fun at their Jubilee fete. They also took part in Walking Rugby sessions organised by Garioch Rugby. Walking Rugby is a game for everyone, of all abilities, and enablers helped to facilitate the game for everyone who went along. Everyone had a great time and are very much looking forward to future sessions.

Some of the people we support in Banchory enjoyed a nice day out with the activities team helping to get recruitment posters and leaflets out and about in the community. They popped into the library for the first time since the pandemic, Margaret and Linda loved catching up with the staff there.

The Aberdeen Supper Clubs have been back in full swing for quite a few months now, and everyone is loving catching up with friends. June also saw the first monthly Elgin Supper Club take place since the pandemic.

Staff and people we support from our services in Moray had a great time catching up and enjoying a tasty meal and a game of bingo at the Granary in Elgin.

Bob’s Buddies paid a visit to Inspire By... Huntly and everyone loved having the chance to hold the magnificent birds of prey and find out more about them.

A fundraising bingo night was held in Inverurie where lots of people from across our services attended and had a great night playing bingo.

Let’s hope the sun continues to shine in the coming months as we have lots more fun activities planned in the coming months.
