Activities Blog - February Review

shoes

The first couple of months of 2022 have flown by! During that time I have been busy with a mix of Zoom activities and helping out with more specific and tailored sessions for the people we support.

I visited one of our Banchory services in January and spent time with the people we support there, getting them involved in games that involved a little bit of movement, fun and throwing things at targets. Everyone was brilliant at it and I enjoyed a nice cuppa afterwards.

Susan from one of our services in Banchory used to love dancing as a little girl and very vividly recalls going to tap and ballet lessons. She has been very keen to start dancing lessons, and after a little bit of researching, I found a lovely dance school where we hope to get Susan some lessons there at her own pace.

Susan was delighted to get a set of tap shoes for her Christmas and a pair of ballet shoes for birthday recently, so she is all set and ready to go.

Last week I helped two of the young people we support in Angus with a healthy cookery class via zoom. Shelby and Justyna have both recently decided they want to enjoy trying some different and healthy meals, which incorporate their five a day. I gathered a list of food items that they liked (and disliked) and helped the girls to search for recipes that they would enjoy both making and eating.

They both enjoyed making and eating their healthy chicken pasta dish, as you will see from the photos! They are looking forward to experimenting with more healthy and nutritious recipes.

I am really hoping that we can arrange more of our larger face to face activities soon, as restrictions start to ease, but in the meantime, if you have an activity that I can help you with then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
