Browsealoud - Making Websites Talk

Browsealoud reads web pages aloud for people who find it difficult to read online. Reading large amounts of text on screen can be difficult for those with literacy and visual impairments.

7 million people in the UK have literacy problems, many of whom have downloaded Browsealoud already. Inspire have subscribed to this service to increase the accessibility of our websites. Browsealoud can also mask information on the screen to help focus on a particular area.

Zoë returns from Belgium with Bronze

Zoë Kane has just returned from Antwerp in Belgium where her and her brother John were competing in the Special Olympics European Summer Games. She is delighted to have picked up a Bronze Medal in Judo whilst brother John picked up a silver. Zoë said that her favourite moments of the Special Olympics were attending the Opening Ceremony and seeing her picture appearing on the big screens during the closing ceremony.

They had been training hard in the run up to the Games at the Beach Leisure Centre in Aberdeen where there is a Judo session for those with additional support needs every Monday evening.

A massive well done from everyone at Inspire, we’re all very proud!
